Chillin' at Home

We are a family that likes to relax (even the dogs apparently)!  If we are at home, we are always in pajamas and just hanging out...and here are some pictures to prove it!

You gotta love cute, lazy dogs, although I often wonder where they get it from! Must be all those naps on my off Friday's! :-)

Deck Painting...again

A couple of weeks ago (over Labor Day weekend), we decided to paint the deck again.  Yes, for those who may remember, we have already done this once since we have lived here, but it definitely needed it again.  The winters are just too harsh for a 5-year stain to actually last 5 years!  At least we picked a nice weekend to paint; the weather was not too hot and the breeze had a little coolness to it.

To refresh your memory on wha tthe deck looked like before we painted it...

And how the deck looks following an entire day of painting...

Simply amazing.  I am always amazed to see how different something can look with just a little bit of hard work and effort.  Plus, now it is done and (hopefully- keep your fingers crossed), we won't have to stain it again for awhile!

Finally, while Jeff and I worked all day painting, this is what Kira and Koda were doing...relzxing and supervising in the yard.  They love just hanging outside with us.

Here's to the completion of another much needed home improvement project!

More Family Fun

On the Sunday of our weekend, Jeff's parent's had everyone over for a big dinner at their house.  It is times like these that I am really glad both of our families get along so well together; it definitely takes a little of the pressure off anytime we visit.  Anyway, my entire family was there, including my grandfather who was in town visiting my mom, Jeff's brother, sister-in-law and the kids and my bestest friend Jaime and her family.  I think there were 16 of us total in the house, but a grand time was had by all.

Here are some pictures of our family fun...

Jaime's little boy Elliot...he had a great time playing with Wyatt.

My brother with his beer (caught off guard apparently).

Elliot and Wyatt playing touch the fire detector with Eddie.

Three generations of McKinney love...my grandpa, my mom and us three Pac kids!

I love all these people so much!  Can't wait until we can all get together again!

Do Blondes have more fun?

I don't know...you tell me!

My niece Ella decided that it was time for a makeover and that I would make a good blonde...not sure that I agree with her, but it was super fun to spend some girl time with her while I got pampered! :-)

At least one person in the house was not afraid of me as a blonde (and, no, it wasn't Jeff)...it was Wyatt!

For the time being, though, I think I will stick to my auburn locks.  Thanks for the makeover, Ella...I had a blast hanging out with you!

Gary and Michelle's Wedding

Ahh, finally the post to explain the whole reason for our trip to Florida...Gary and Michelle's wedding!  Gary is Jeff's good friend from high school and enrolled in the army a couple of years ago.  He was stationed in Iraq for over a year and just came back to the states in July.  He called us (from Iraq) in May and asked if we would come to the wedding.  Of course, we were excited, especially since we knew before Michelle did that Gary was going to propose.  They have been together (on and off) since they were 17, so this was a long time in the making; he even brought Michelle to our wedding in April 2005.

First, we got Jeff's mom to grab a quick picture of us as we left.  Little did we know then that we would match the wedding colors exactly!  We had people coming up to us and asking if we were in the wedding party.

We were super excited to go to the wedding and see them finally tie the knot.  And the wedding did not disappoint.  It was beautiful and at the Riverside Grill right on the water.  Although a storm was brewing outside, the ambiance inside could not be dampened.

The wedding was beautiful and left me crying (what can I say?...I am a sucker for weddings)!  Here are some pictures taken right before and during the ceremony...

The wedding cake was delicious and gorgeous, white cake with a layer of respberry jelly and another layer of chocolate mousse...yummy!

In between, we got to visit with the bride and groom and the groom's parents.  They are awesome!

After that, it was the first dance, mother and son and father and daughter dances before dinner and then they started playing really good dancing music.  Of course, I made Jeff dance at least one slow song with me (lucky duck). :-)  They also did the garter and bouquet toss...it was a whole lot of fun!  Here are some other pictures from the wedding.

We wound up staying until the venue kicked us out (literally)...Gary and Michelle, we wish you a lifetime of happiness and love.  Congratulations on your marriage!

Only in Florida

While we were leaving Jeff's grandmother's assisted living home, we stopped at a corner and this is what we saw...

For those of you that cannot read the signs, they say "Save Second Base", "I love Boobs" and "Honk 4 Boobs"...and the most hilarious thing is that a kid was holding the "Honk for Boobs" and "I love Boobs" signs!  How funny.  Turns out they were advertising for a car wash to benefit breast cancer research.  Although I endorse the cause and the advertising, I thought the kid holding that sign was probably the funniest thing I had seen in a while.  It was only rivaled by the bumper sticker I saw on a car in the grocery store parking lot right after...check it out for yourself!

As the title of the post says, only in Florida!
