Look, I'm a Star!

At the beginning of August, we went to an open house at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) for the new broadway season.  Since Jeff did so well last year by getting me season tickets to DPAC for my birthday, I am too spoiled to go back to not having season tickets again.  So we had to renew our tickets for the upcoming season as well.  While there, we were able to exchange our seats for seats closer to the stage (I am very excited about this season); the 2012-2013 season includes War Horse, Sister Act, Jersey Boys, Mary Poppins, Million Dollar Quartet, Jekyll and Hyde, Anything Goes, and Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.  It looks to be even better than last season.  I am sure we won't be disappointed.

Anyway, while at the open house, we got to take a backstage tour.  It was awesome to see the dressing rooms for the stars, as well as the cast signatures for each of the acts that come through DPAC.  There are literally hundreds of signatures on the walls of famous stars that have performed at DPAC.

I even got to be a star as Jeff took my picture in a dressing room.

Who knows?...maybe I will have a second career as a Broadway star!  Probably not, but at least a girl can dream!



Train Concert

Sorry I have been an absent blogger lately; proposal season was in full swing at work and took up most of my days, nights, and weekends for the past 3 months.  Finally, things look like they are starting to calm down a bit, so I will definitely have some time to catch up on my blogging.

Train came to the Raleigh Amphitheater at the end of July and I just had to get tickets!  I love being in an area that has so many options for fun things to do...and I am determined to not miss any of it if at all possible.  I have adored Train for a long time and was so excited they were coming to town.

The concert was on a Friday night that was filled with rain; we kept hoping that it would pass by, but just as Matt Kearney started to play as the opening act, the rain started.  We all had to evacuate (due to the lightning and thunder) to the convention center across the street and wait out the rain.  And wait we did (and wait, and wait some more)...almost two hours later, the rain let up and Train came out to play. I was surprised they didn't just cancel the concert.  So many people had left during the storm, but we decided to stay.

And I am so glad we waited it out!  The concert was amazing and even though we were wet, hot messes, we were wet, hot messes with a ton of other people enjoying great live music.



Train put on a hell of a concert and I will definitely see them again the next time they are in the area.
